We developed the Lower Secondary program to build on the skills being developed in the Primary program as well as to begin the preparation of the transformation process that occurs naturally within children of this age. We also build attitudes and skills based on Islamic values on everyday life that are needed to participate effectively with the changing demands toward globalization.
We believe that children are blessings from Allah and we have to recognize the innate and inherent needs of children. Our Lower Secondary program strives to fulfill the needs of the child by targeting six basic areas of development: spiritual, psychological, emotional, social, physical, and cognitive development based on their self-uniqueness of talent and passion.
While notebook computers are part of our learning style, hands-on activities still play an important role. We wish to ensure that different needs are acknowledged and encouraged.
The Upper Secondary program at MHIS offers a specialized pathway for students to excel academically, develop advanced skills, and prepare for university and specific career fields.
We encourage, support and allow our Upper Secondary students to take increasing responsibility for their learning program in their Senior School. We allows students to follow their interests and passions and prepare for their future careers. The needs of the individual students are met through the provision of a wide range of pathways throughout the school’s academic program and through a comprehensive system of Islamic values and guidance. Students can access a range of studies in their streaming program. Streaming program enables students to choose a variety of subjects offered in our IGCSE and AS & A Level program.
School provides a Streaming Program which is Science and Business starting in Grade 10. Once the student enrolls to our school, an assessment will be taken to give the student recommendation whether they are more suitable to be Science or Business. Cambridge IGCSE is the world’s most popular international qualification for 14 to 16 year
olds. It is recognised by leading universities and employers worldwide, and is an international passport to progression and success. Our IGCSE Program consists of subjects from Mathematics, English, Combined Science, History, Business Studies, Mandarin and many more.
