Junior High
We developed Junior High program to build on the skills being developed in the Primary program as well as to begin the preparation of the transformation process that occurs naturally within children of this age. We also build attitudes and skills based on Islamic values on everyday life that are needed to participate effectively with the changing demands toward globalization.
We believe that children are blessings from Allah and we have to recognize the innate and inherent needs of children. Our Junior High program strives to fulfill the needs of the child by targeting six basic areas of development: spiritual, psychological, emotional, social, physical, and cognitive development based on their self-uniqueness of talent and passion.
School is serious but not drudgery in which program provides opportunities for enjoyment, success and challenges. While notebook computers are part of our learning style, hands on activities still play an important role. We wish to ensure that different needs are acknowledged and encouraged.
Our Curriculum
Our students are next leader (caliph) and our curriculum is created based on the current and future needs, therefore students are able to contribute and compete nationally and internationally. We combined national and international curriculum to assure that our students grow in their origin culture and nation loving. We aided the next leader (caliph) with not only the ability to speak by foreign language literacy but also technology mastery.
We designed coordinated jointly lessons to produce a student who can function proficiently in the next grade and to compare strategies and innovate new ideas. Compulsory subjects are core subjects that students have to take while optional subjects are based on what is their passion in the most. We stated the midyear class themes to set our character building goals.
Our assessment is set as not the only way on how we see how students are progressing academically, but also how they strive hard for their result as a matter of process. We focus on the process, not the result.

Islamic Values
We do agree that identity and character development is an integral part of the middle school experience thus we have responsibility to instill students with Islamic values and character. Students deepen their knowledge of values and morals in our Islamic program; which consist of Islamic Studies and BTQ (Qur’an). These values are reinforced through our daily routines, e.g. praying together (jama’ah), dhuha praying, discussing recent Islamic issues through Boys & Girls Talk, Pesantren Ramadhan, Manasik Umrah/Hajj, and celebrating Islamic Days (e.g. Maulidur Rasul, Islamic New Year, Eid Al Fithr, Eid Al Adha, Isra Mi’raj and etc.).
Students are also encouraged to develop meaningful connections between the Quran and Hadith and their daily lives. Through the discussions in our classrooms, teachers are the agents to instill the Islamic values of humanity, respect and tolerance.
Leadership Program
Through the Mutiara Harapan Student Union (MHSU), an experiential learning form, we empower our next young Islamic leaders to be ready to act for positive action and change in our social environment and Indonesian society at large. We have also thematic seminar programs to broaden students on how to become an effective leader.
Community Involvement Program
Extension activities such Community Service learning and Charity are designed specifically for students to gain a deeper understanding of their own faith while sharing it with others contribute to their environment. As they grew and connected to their society, they have to take part and do their best to their society.
Our Environmental Concerns
We engage our students in outdoor educational and recreational programs, which inspire students to have an appreciation of our natural world in a fun and recreational environment through activities: Science Fair, field study, camping program in their specific projects. Education and recreation are interconnected and it will end into experiential and enjoyable activity, another way to achieve a learning goal.
Our Achievement
Every child is smart, we believe so. As one of our commitments to boost students’ potentials, we also sent them to some academic and non-academic competition. Through competition, they will learn about hard work, compete, sportsmanship, success and gratitude.
We have joined and won in various academic and non-academic competitions; in Math, Science, English, poster design, calligraphy, story writing, taekwondo, basketball, futsal and etc. We keep on preparing our school and students to involve in many other competitions, and we dare to win.
