For studying Math, we can’t just sit still. We have to do something in order to experience and understand more about arithmetic. At this time, we use money as our media; how to calculate the money and how to spend it. So we went to a mini market and shopped there as part of 2nd-grade outing.

Just like the G1 outing, there are also 3 chapters. The first one belongs to Grade 2A. The students got coins and notes in Rupiah currency, consist of 1,000 coins, 5,000 notes, 10,000 notes, and 20,000 notes. They have calculated how many notes and coins and how much money in total. Students asked to read money notation on a price tag of some kind of stuff. Then the teachers asked students what they can buy with different amount of money.

Along these lines, our students are studying Math in a fun way already. Also, they can apply it again in their daily lives.
