Grade 9 students of Mutiara Harapan Islamic School have held a community service program on 21^st – 27^th of January 2018 in Dieng, Wonosobo – Central Java. The aim of this program was to participate, involve and contribute actively to improve our surrounding community. We also hope that this program would enhance the sense of empathy within our students.

We arrived at Purwokerto in the early morning on 22^nd of January 2018. Then we continued directly to the school to have an introduction with the students and teachers there. After that we went to our homestay to have some rest and get ready for the next day, which is the first day of teaching in SDN Patak Banteng.

We started our morning on 23^rd of January 2018 with teaching English and art to the students of grade 5 and 6. After ice breaking, we divided all students into 9 groups consist of 5-6 students of grade 5 and 6 per group. After that, we went to Dieng plateau theatre to watch the movie of Mt. Dieng and its natural beauty. Because there was a storm, we decided to go back to our homestay and continued our preparation for our second day of teaching.

On our second day of teaching in SDN Patak Banteng, we were greeted with happy faces. Our students taught them Math and English story. They were very excited to learn with our students because they said they have never practiced math with their teacher as our students did there. After it was done, we went to Arjuna temple and Sikidang crater. We gained our knowledge about history of Dieng. Our students also visited the potatoes farm to know how to develop the farming in Dieng. All students enjoyed harvesting potatoes directly in the farm and accompanied by the local farmers, they also could take home some plastic bags of potatoes.

We woke up very early on 25^th of January 2018, because we went to Sikunir hill to see the beautiful sunrise. But unfortunately, clouds came and hid the beauty of the sunrise. So instead, we prepared our last day of teaching in SDN Patak Banteng. We prepared some demonstrations of science experiment and also learned together about BISINDO or known as Bahasa Isyarat Indonesia as one of our students were given this special ability. As a farewell, some of our students present their talent such as: singing and playing instrument. Our community service in SDN Patak Banteng was finished by giving a donation from Mutiara Harapan students.

After we finished from school, we did industrial visits to carica and purwaceng factories which are the main commodities in Dieng plateau. Students required to actively collect information about the industrial visits to gain knowledge about the industrial affairs. We spent our last afternoon in Dieng by visiting Candradimuka crater and Telaga Dringo, all students were happy. On 26^th of January 2018, we left Dieng and went to Jogjakarta. Then we head back to Jakarta by the train.
